Our Story

Born from a Promise to Do More

Tidal Paws Animal Rescue was founded in 2023 by Jennifer Elvis, a veterinary practice manager with 34 years of experience and former area coordinator for Carolina Boxer Rescue. After adopting her own rescue boxer and witnessing firsthand how much he had been through, Jennifer knew she wanted to expand her impact beyond breed-specific rescue.

Today, Tidal Paws is a foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 33-2648796) serving the entire Grand Strand -- from Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach to Conway, Murrells Inlet, Little River, and Longs. Every dog in our care lives in a loving foster home, receiving one-on-one attention and socialization while they wait for their forever family.

What We Do

Four Pillars of Our Mission

01

Foster-Based Rescue

Every dog lives in a foster home -- not a kennel. This means one-on-one attention, real-world socialization, and detailed insights about each dog's personality for the perfect adoption match.

02

Complete Veterinary Care

Our $425 adoption fee covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, health check, deworming, and flea/tick prevention. Every dog goes home healthy and ready to thrive.

03

Microchip Reunification

Our Microchip Reunification Stations help reunite lost pets with their families -- a community program approved by the City of Myrtle Beach and the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society.

04

Boxerpalooza & Events

Our annual Boxerpalooza fundraiser has raised over $62,000 since 2023. We also host adoption events across the Grand Strand to connect dogs with their forever families.

What We Believe

Our Values

100% to the Animals

Every dollar donated goes directly to animal care. No paid staff, no overhead -- just compassion in action.

Foster-First

Dogs thrive in homes, not kennels. Our foster families give each dog the individual attention they deserve.

Community

We serve the entire Grand Strand and believe in the power of neighbors helping neighbors -- and their pets.

Second Chances

Every dog deserves a chance at a happy life, regardless of age, breed, or background.

Transparency

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are open about our operations, finances, and processes.
